Why I Started HempDash: Lessons from Year One

The Spark of an Idea

It all started with a simple observation: the hemp and CBD industry, despite its incredible potential for wellness, was stuck in the dark ages of logistics. I saw small businesses struggling to reach customers and consumers confused by a fragmented market. With my background in AI and large-scale systems at Google, I knew there had to be a better way. That's how HempDash was born—not just as a delivery service, but as a technology platform designed to bring trust, transparency, and efficiency to the entire ecosystem.

Lessons from the First Year

Year one has been a whirlwind of challenges and triumphs. We've learned that in a regulated industry, moving fast can't come at the expense of breaking things. Compliance isn't a feature; it's the foundation. We've also learned the immense value of community. Building relationships with our vendor partners and listening to our drivers has been the single most important factor in our growth. Technology is the enabler, but people are the heart of the business.
